Add ancient fire to your look. Raku is an ancient form of firing a ceramic piece. The piece is heated to about 1950 F, then removed from the kiln and put into a container filled with combustable material. Once the materia is on fire, the lid is put on the container. This gives the piece a multi-colored glaze. Each raku piece is unique.
This 22" necklace features raku beads, raku pendant, agate, chrysocolla, feldspath, hemalyke, carnelian and pearls. You can see the stringing material in the photos. This isn't a defect. Although I use a strong stringing material, like everything else, it has a breaking point. Leaving a bit of the stringing material showing ensures there's not too much tension on the stringing material. Too much tension, and the necklace breaks.
Although I try hard to get the colors accurate, monitors vary. If you have any questions about color or anything else, please email me: firstname.lastname@example.org.
